North Central Basketball Club (NCBC) is a non-profit, volunteer driven, community basketball association. This association was designed for the development of youth basketball for boys and girls ranging in age from 6 to 18 years. We are proud members of the Calgary Minor Basketball Association (CMBA), who organizes schedules and arranges games involving community based basketball teams throughout Calgary.
Season: The season begins for players in mid-September with evaluation sessions at all levels except Tykes. These sessions will group players of like ability onto teams to compete against similar strength teams from other communities in the City. Our teams, from Mini through Junior, will compete in a developmental and fun-oriented City league from October through February. The month of March will see the City playoffs held throughout Calgary communities. Top tier teams from these play-downs will be eligible for Provincial championships late in March. The Provincial tournament rotates between Edmonton and Calgary each year. Please note: Juvenile and Junior teams have 2 sessions. The Fall Session runs from September to November. The Winter Session for players, who do not play on their school teams, runs from January to March.
Practices and Games: Tykes™ teams will hold practice/game nights each Friday through this period. All teams from Mini through Junior will hold one evening practice (Mon-Fri) and have a game scheduled on Saturday as the CMBA mission statement reads, “we will endeavour to provide an accessible, fair, safe and fun environment for kids to develop a love for this great game. Please contribute to this by making your children available for these scheduled events as basketball is team driven and requires their attendance.
Volunteers: North Central Basketball Club needs your help. As we are a volunteer driven association, we are in need of parents to step up and be involved within the club. We are always looking for people to join our executive and help where they can. The club is always looking for new and experienced coaches to help guide teams and develop players. Please let us know during the registration process if you are interested in helping us out on one of these levels.
